Well last night was fun as we each won a game. The boys are still leading, but it is nice to know that we can still get the cards.
We went back to Venice Rookery after breakfast this morning. It is a sunny and windy day, but lovely. We saw a number of birds still sitting on eggs, but more of the babies have hatched. The anhinga babies are so big that you would have to call them teenagers or at least tweens. Our list for the day is: common egret, great blue heron, little blue heron (he is the close-up as he walked right in front of me), little green heron, glossy ibis, white ibis, cormorant, anhinga, black crowned night heron, purple martin, tree swallow, cardinal, red shouldered hawk, turkey vulture, boat tailed grackle, brown headed cowbird, gators, common gallinule, osprey, morning dove, and cattle egret.
We then drove into Venice and walked around a bit. We poked into a few stores, but didn't buy much. Cathie picked up some fudge and I got some postcards. We decided not to ear lunch in town, but to start back and have lunch at Chick-fil-A. They make a very good salad and I love their avocado/lime ranch dressing and as a bonus we have enough leftover to have with our pasta dinner tonight.
If the wind dies down we may take a walk on the beach this evening.
